What is One You Cheshire East Life Style services?

Cheshire East Council have commissioned a number of organisations to provide integrated lifestyle services for adults and families. The services provide:

Pathways to self help through a dedicated website One You Cheshire East

Stop Smoking Services and Support provided by:                      

  • Well Pharmacies - Please call your nearest to make an appointment
  • Wirral Community Trust operating out of Waters Green Medical Centre on Thursdays call to make an appointment 01270 376642
  • Health Box Community Interest Company smoking-cessation service
  • KICKStart provides smoking cessation for pregnant smokers and smoker with mental health problems -    0800 085 8818 or Kick Start stop smoking

Alcohol brief intervention - this is also provided by the services above with the exception of KICK Start.

Physical activity - provided by Everybody sport and recreation (Active Lives) 12 week physical activity programme.

To access the programme you must be:

  • A Cheshire East resident
  • Aged 18 years and over 
  • Doing less than 30 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity per week.
  • Motivated and wanting to be more physically active

The programme is tailored to individual needs, providing individuals with the necessary tool support and knowledge to achieve their goals and transform their lifestyle.

Healthy eating - A 6 week course by Taste for life cookery that will encourage more people to cook meals at home, from scratch, using basic ingredients. Courses are available to anyone who is :

  • A Cheshire East Resident
  • Aged 18 years and older
  • motivated and wanting to learn to cook from scratch, improve cookery skills and eating habits

Weight Management - Reshape is a 12 week adult weight management programme, combining education and physical activity. To access this programme a person must be:

  • A Cheshire East resident
  • Age 18 Years and over
  • BMI 27-39.9
  • Motivated and wanting loose weight

Falls prevention - Be Steady Be Safe is a 24 week programme, consisting of 14 strength and balance exercise classes, prescribed home exercises and education of reducing falls risk factors. To access this programme you must be:

  • A Cheshire East resident
  • Aged 65 years and over

and have 1 or more of the following

  • Fallen in the past 12 months
  • poor balance and mobility
  • Osteoporosis
